From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I do not believe that it is necessary or prudent to tax and fund journalism by the government. Freedom of Speech is one of our most cherished rights in the United States and this provides a way that will jeopardize and control media that may not agree with the people in charge. This is a very bad plan and should be stopped now. Please do not implement this plan or anything that would add more tax burdens on the people or in any way infringe on the rights of others to speak their mind. If in fact, large news organizations have debt then they need to adapt and take care of it themselves, I have a business and I can't ask the government to tax others and give me the money to stay in business, if they can't make it then they should have to close. It's a tough world out there. Thank you.
