From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I am unequivocally opposed to any effort to support journalism through taxation or any other means except through free enterprise and the free market. How can we have independent and unbiased journalism if it is being publicly supported through taxation. That simply makes journalism beholden to the hands that feed it. My opinion is that this effort to support journalism is a thinly veiled effort to control journalism (the media), and I am speaking about all forms of journalism, be it print, television, radio, internet, or any other type of journalism. Thank you for this opportunity to comment.
