From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
If journalism cannot survive the Internet age, then it will die. It is the law of evolution, it is the law of survival of the fittest. It is NOT government's job to help journalism survive. Actually, it would be a direct violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States for government to lift one finger to help journalism survive. It would be an act of treason to violate the Constitution for the sake of helping journalism to survive. It is NOT government's job, nor the job of anyone in the government, elected or hired, to prop up journalism and ensure its survival. I respectfully suggest you drop this idea, now. You have NO business even thinking about it. It is NOT your job. Any actions by you to help journalism will be opposed and resisted and taken to the courts.
