From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Our republic was formed based upon the Constitution of the United States of America. I strongly oppose any government agency limiting free speech or press. You might not agree with whatever is said or printed, but you should not take away that right which is provided for by the Constitution. Any and all efforts to "tax" speech or press or to justify the limiting of speech or press by "localizing" or "providing diversity" would in and of itself be dictating speech and press. We learn through history what happens when the government begins to take over speech and press. We are given socialism, Marxism and Communism. This is not what made the United States of America great. Independence, free speech and press, a free economy, limited government, low taxes and limited government programs. These are the things that have made America great and are the things we need to return to and embrace.
