From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I strongly oppose many of the ideas put forth in your "Reinventing Journalism" document, particularly the following: * A tax on news aggregators. * A “journalism division” of AmeriCorps - I don't want my tax dollars being used for this. * A direct Journalism Bailout fund to “help pay the salary of every journalist” - this is preposterous and an outrage! * A 5% tax on consumer electronics. * Any taxe on cell phones, television and radio that would all be part of a massive $35 billion “Citizenship Media Fund”. This is not what our country needs and this is an essentially wrong headed approach to the issues facing journalism. Sincerely Yours, Herb Tucker
