From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Journalism is not part of the government. It is not provided for in the Constitution. It is not a thing that needs to be bailed out by taxpayers. We the people will voluntarily and eagerly support any form of journalism that provides information in a timely manner through the free market and competitive pricing. Witness the popularity of radio and internet. If old forms of journalism can't compete, they will fail. Let them adapt or die. Freedom of speech IS provided for in the Constitution, and it is not to be regulated or taxed. If journalism is failing, let journalists look to themselves for the reasons.
