I am in total opposition to any form of government influence or control over ANY form of the media. The First Amendment to the Constitution states "Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people ... to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." These proposed new rules are in DIRECT violation of our First Amendment, rights that existed prior to our great country's founding, and which have were specifically enumerated by this amendment. We DO NOT need more government influence or control in the media, be it TV, Internet in any of it's forms, or print media. While I hope those behind these proposed rules have only the purest motives in mind, the potential for abuse it extremely high, in many different forms, several of which would be direct or indirect censorship, discrimination based on financial status, as well as increased cost of doing business and higher costs for consumers. These proposed regulations need to be shelved, permanently.
