From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
How about instead of messing around with the future of journalism, just do something normal and let it evolve to where it will go. When automobiles were first invented, the govt did not start a special tax to help people that built horse drawn carriages - the industry evolved and the people that built horse drawn carriages had to evolve to something better. If the govt were financing horse drawn carriages it would of damaged the USA economy and technonolgy progression. So as time progresses let journalists evolve to the next step - but do not tax Americans for it - that makes no sense - the govt does not raise taxes for every person that loses their job and needs training to learn something different. Evolving in the workplace is called "LIFE" - all professions need to get used to it - it is the WORKERS responsibility, not government's responsibility. Individualism has made America great - Government has never done anything to made America great. Hands Off! Government!
