From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Please exercise leniency toward all radio, television, broadcast stations regardless of point of view. This country needs free speech. Air time is 1 way citizens can exercise their right to speak up or listen to an opinion free of outside encumbrance or interference. Life involves risk. It appears certain journalistic venues are suffering. Well, they had a virtual monopoly for decades and freely CHOSE not to adapt, change, or fairly represent their readers. It appears some aspects of journalism chose mediocraty and favoritism instead of accurate reporting. These folks or apparati deserve to fail. LET THEM! Some aspects of broadcast have worked hard to build, establish a clientele. LEAVE THEM ALONE. Innovation breeds success, vice versa. Government interference or meddling advantages the inefficient and the ineffectual. Again, the laggards or contrivers need to FAIL. Also, those subsidized by federal spending need to be freed from their dependency on the public dole. This country cannot afford, monetarily or figuratively, continuous government interference in defiance of our liberties as a free society.
