From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I strongly object to your 47-page bureaucratic plan “Reinventing Journalism” document and this effort to censor and tax speech, in particular conservative speech, and our free speech rights in general. I consider even the meetings and supposedly innocuous "discussions" to be an outrageous example of the creeping tyranny that appears to be a hallmark of this Administration. I will resist all initiatives which come from this FTC endeavor and urge all public officials and employees involved in this unconstitutional scheming to consider their obligations under oaths they have taken with respect to the Constitution. Read this article: http://www.mrcaction.org/r.asp?U=28636 This new FTC document combined with the FCC’s moves to impose a “Fairness Doctrine” pose an ominous threat to conservative speech that would empower the Obama administration to control the dissemination of information while imposing punitive taxes on ideological opponents. This is UNACCEPTABLE and INTOLERABLE! CEASE AND DESIST!
