From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I stongly oppose any government intervention in the free excercise of jounalistism, in whatever medium it is found. The Constitution clearly states the a Free Press is a right of the American People. This so-called "reinventing journalism" is nothing more than the government attempting to control who and what type of press can be free. The government has no business taxing those on the internet who report on conservative matters. The government has no business using my tax dollars to pay for jounalism school or to bail out any newspaper or broadcast jounalist or company. Keep your meddling noses out of any support for the press in any form. If newspapers and broadcasters can't keep up with internet journalism, maybe it is time for them to go the way of the dinosaur. I don't think that my letter will become part of the official record, but if it does, I ask you to give what I have to say serious thougnt. Thank you.
