From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
From even before the founding of our country, journalists and writers and thinkers took advantage of the printing press to disseminate ideas, using flyers, pamphlets, leaflets and newspapers. Just because the medium has changed to electronic means does not make a crisis in journalism demanding some kind of government intervention. In fact, all who cherish freedom of the press must tremble at the very idea of government imposing any kind of "solution" on media, because of the danger of discrimination against ideas and limits on free speech. I categorically oppose government involvement in any way, shape or form in American journalism and media. This is NOT a problem for the FTC or FCC.
