From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Gentlemen: Journalism, even to a greater extent than other enterprises, is a member of the free enterprise system and must stand alone and free from governmental influence. If a journalistic enterprise offers something that is wanted and needed by the general public, then it will survive on its own merits. The government has no business deciding how to prop up a failing journalistic enterprise. Keep the “Free Press” free! The constitution seems to be pretty clear on this issue. Sincerely, William C.
