From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
We urge the Federal Communications Commission (the FCC) and everyone in Washington to reject any and all efforts to censor, limit, or restrain free speech – on conservative, liberal, or Christian talk radio, on the internet, or on/by/through any other available communication system/technology network media outlet. Open media outlets for free expression include those now threatened by restrictions based on the antiquated FCC rule misrepresented as the “Fairness” Doctrine. We oppose any and all backdoor “Fairness” Doctrine-type FCC regulatory powers such as enforcement of “localism,” “diversity in media ownership” and service of the “local” or “public interest” that restricts open media outlets needed for free expression. We oppose any attempt to regulate content of the internet or any other journalistic/media outlet. We are joining with other American citizens who want their individual free speech rights defended and protected from government intrusion! Our great nation was built upon free and open discourse. To remain a great nation our free speech must be protected and preserved, at all costs, through and by any and all communication systems available. We will be watching closely and taking action when necessary to directly oppose any censorship efforts as well as the liberal bias of the media.
