The imposition of additional taxes at such a critical time in our economic climate will not serve the best interests of the country and place a further drag on any economic recovery. To use these tax revenues to expand government programs to further a paticular political agenda or economic segment is also unjust and an afront to many Americans. Free speech is a protected right in our Constitution and I would urge the Committee to not pursue any such support for a particular industry which is seeking a government bailout because they simply have become uncompetitive with evolving technology. Please allow the free enterprise system to function to weed out the unproductive and uncompetitive segments in our economy and allow our nation to push forward with advances in more viable technology. It is not the governments' job to support specific industries at the expense of others.
