From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The FTC and the government in general must stay completely out of journalism. - The federal government has no grant of power to help or hinder journalism, so any federal government action would be unconstitutional. - The federal government is completely bankrupt, borrowing 43% of what it spends each year. There is not one extra cent to spend on this nonsense. - The citizens are overwhelmingly opposed to any government help or interference in the exercise of journalism. - We are a free society, not a government-run society. If the free market causes changes in journalism, so be it. The fittest will survive based on the free choices of individual citizens. Government action in journalism is an affront to a free society. It would shock and outrage our founding fathers. - Everybody advocating helping or hindering journalism should be fired, purged from government employment.
