Dear FTC; The draft document makes reliance upon an opinion poll (Roper) as the basis for the claim that NPR is less biased 'than Fox and CNN'. Bias is readily ascertained by objective analysis, i.e. number of stories about one side vs. the other, usages of positive vs. negative portrayals, amount of space allotted to each perspective. A single opinion poll is worse than worthless for analysis of bias. Shame on you. Especially in an era when the president has an overt political arm (OFA) with explicit directions for operatives to place supportive letters to the editor and scripted messages to radio callers, we must be doubly vigilant to bias in media. Whatever the answer to subsidizing journalism, it cannot be expansion of NPR. They don't call it National Palestinian Radio by accident. Concerned Citizen, retaining anonymity to avoid the angry enmity of those who would use my free speech against me, as happened to people in CA who supported proposition 8.
