From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I oppose any kind of government regulation of media, and federal funding to any news or talk formats, I oppose any government sanctioned news agency of any type. Regulation should be confined to frequency band use areas, and to keep indecent language off the air on public airways that may be accessed by children. Freedom of speech is no longer free if it is subsidized in any way- the playing field is level- any political party or person is totally free to buy time and use it. If it fails it means it is not wanted or needed. Government paying or supporting journalists prevnets them from being objective as they are beholden to the instiution paying them. If "journalists" become journalists again the problem would resolve by its self.
