The regulation of free speech that is being attempted with this proposal is astounding. The backers of this unconstitutional power play are enemies of the free and informed society demanded by our Nations founders (as in the Second Amendment). Keep out of the news media. As a government agency, you have no business in the business. The public demand for accurate and relatively unbiased information drives out the incompetents and the propagandists(Many of who are naturally backing this play). It also rewards with success those who help us to look carefully at the events around us with accurate and thought provoking facts and opinion. Contrary to socialist beliefs, we aren't stupid and we vote with our pocketbooks. The ones that you are proposing to empty with "taxes" to subsidize the very "news agencies" that our "votes" are happily putting out of business. Those who hate our freedom to choose our news sources and are failing because their socialist bias is so obvious, desire to be the only voices in the room. What you are doing will empower them to continue and ultimately regulate the content of "public information" that will then no longer be news, but "newspeak".(See: George Orwell, Author "1984") It's all in the book.
