16 CFR Part 310 Telemarketing Sales Rule- Debt Relief Amendments
I feel victim to the marketing ploys on annual credit report.com. All annual credit reports should be completely free of marketing. If the companies can't provide the website with no marketing--have them feed the data through links to a federal site. The credit report is rather meaningless without the score. Yes, you can see open charge accounts, late payments, etc. But the score is the most important part of consumer information. It's like a written description of a football game without the final score. Meaningless! The very consumers who most need the assistance of the FTC are being hijacked by these sites. Either through free credit reports montly for $9.99 or paying excessive fees for the actual score.
