16 CFR Part 310 Telemarketing Sales Rule- Debt Relief Amendments
Last year my family finally hit the point of no return where we were so buried in debt that we didn't know what to do next. We looked into bankrupcy, tried many consolidation options, and finally chose the route of debt settlement to try and end our struggles. A few years back I took a cut in pay, lost my company car benefits, then we sold our house for a loss, had some family deaths (4 in 9 months that caused extensive travel), and tried everything to minimize our monthly spending, but basically lived on credit cards for way too long. We paid minimum payments for years which never got us anywhere, except paying loads of interest. Once we decided to go with Debt Regret, we were finally able to breath a little and tread water instead of the slow drowning we were doing. Within 6 months we settled our first credit card debt for 25% of what the balance was. I knew then we made the right choice, and it was the start of getting this 'monkey' off our backs. We have a long way to go, but I know we will make it. Each person I have dealt with at Debt Regret has been amazingly helpful to me. They have answered every question, and explained in detail every step we will take on our 3 year journey of debt relief. From the very start of this, and to the frequent check in calls I get, it's been extremelly reassuring to know that they are so helpful and supportive of getting us where we need to go, and assuring us that we aren't alone in this. I would hate to see the debt settlement option go out of business, because it has been invaluable to us. Please keep this as a viable option for others because bankruptcy is not the right option for everyone in need. Thank you, Tina Carr
