Platinum mixed with another base metal outside of it's family should not be able to be labeled "Platinum". Consumer's purchase this metal because of it's valuable properties and if pieces no longer ring true to their Platinum characteristics these consumers will not trust other labels on metals. If a customer buys a "Platinum" ring and they react to the copper base metal, it is no longer true platinum because it is no longer hypoallergenic.
