This proposed order does nothing to solve the fundamental problem with these products. The sweetened alcoholic beverages with up to 12% alcohol content will still be sold in 23.5 ounce containers. Teens find it easy in our community to obtain these beverages and drink one to two of them in one sitting. We have experienced the death of one teen in Fairfax County, who disoriented after drinking Four Loko, wandered out of his home, sat in the middle of a road, was hit by a car and killed. This drink does not appeal to mature adults over age 21, it appeals to underage drinkers. Please do more than change the labeling and place a cap on the can.
