Preliminary Proposed Nutrition Principles to Guide Industry Self-Regulatory Efforts, Project No. P094513

The influence of advertising calorie dense, sodium dense, high saturated fat foods that are processed and relatively low in other important nutrients (eg potassium, fiber, quality protein) is incalculably damaging. It promotes and deems acceptable a food culture in this nation that is literally making us sick. It adds momentum to a nation that >80% of which doesn't even eat 5 servings of whole fruit and vegetables a day and a nation so engineered to provide processed, salted and sugared up or bread based grains that if all Americans were to try to eat 5 servings daily tomorrow, there wouldn't be enough to supply us. That shocking fact is reinforced by advertising foods that contradict our own NIH's DASH eating recommendstions in such a shocking and paradoxical irony as to be an ethical crime against young humanity. Any effort to stem this tide of immoral influence against the unsuspecting treasure of our nation will surely provide a smoother path to Heavenly Eternity for those make such an effort. I support these voluntary changes and self-imposed limitations to allow a beginning in the healing of our toxic, deadly food culture. With Highest Respects
