During my first deployment my wife insisted that we needed to buy a "new" car. Well my wife searched for almost six months before she found a car that she really liked. She found a 2007 Cadillac CTS, the year was 2008. She viewed the vehicle asked pertinent questions and everything seemed to be good to go. She asked if the vehicle had any issues and the dealership ensured her everything was good and even went as far to tell her that "It has a manufacturer's warranty, this means nothing is really wrong with the vehicle." Well she decided to buy it and did that very day. Shortly there after the vehicle started having issues to include random leaks in the trunk and sun roof areas. We had them repaired by the dealership we bought it from.(Thomasville Ford, Thomasville GA 31792) As soon as I returned from my deployment, I checked out the car and noticed a few flaws in the paint, to include dirt, horribly mixed and prepared paint and even tape lines (Mainly things that an auto repair knowledgeable person would notice.). I then called the General Manager of the dealership, Ken Kaplan. I told him about the vehicle having these paint issues and that we just found out the vehicle had been involved in an accident and he told me that there was no way they sold us that vehicle and that he would call me back in 15 minutes. He called me back and while I answered the phone he was calling me a con-artist. I then said "Excuse me?" and he began to stutter as if he were in shock that I heard him. Well he then asked me what I wanted him to do about it, I then told him a new paint job would suffice. Ken Kaplan then said that he and his team would do nothing for my family and I. I then told him that I was in contact with a lawyer and his exact words were. "I don't know who the hell you are going to sue but you do whatever you have to do." We have been in litigation for almost two years now. Meanwhile, the Cadillac has been parked during all of this. Since this we have had to buy a 2nd car for the wife and I and we still have the Cadillac. Which is definitely a thorn in the side. Since being in litigation everything has come to light. The vehicle was actually involved in a high speed chase and ended when the car was overturned and towed off the scene. The whole roof of the vehicle is from another car, front end is all body filler. It's just horrible. I don't know how this dealership, a well renowned dealership, is getting away with doing this to us. I wouldn't put it past them if they have done this multiple times.
