Proposed Consent Agreement In the Matter of Facebook, Inc., FTC File No. 0923184

Facebook has a fairly new practice of including friend's comments made in response to non-friends posts in my news feed. It is easy enough for me to "unsubscribe to comments" made by each friend (although Facebook reverts back that setting on a regular basis). But the real concern is that this practice means that when my fiends comment on my own posts, it will show up on a non-friend's news feed. Which means that if I have 100 friends and they each have 100 friends, then my post could potentially be sent out to 10,000 people, even though my own settings are set for "friends only". I trust my own friends and know them well, but I do not trust 10,000 unknown people. As a parent of young children I feel it is putting them at risk to be exposed to the masses in such a way (via pictures I might post or information I might happen to give within my status updates). It is very sneaky of Facebook and most users may not even realize this is happening.
