This is a very good step in the right direction. By default, foods marketed to children tend to be the more processed foods, it is the processors who have the money to advertise. Is there anything that can be done to make the less processed foods such as fresh fruits and veggies, water, and low fat milk more appealing to children That is probably a question outside the scope of this workgroup but is an important consideration none the less. USDA provides many farm subsidies (I'm from Kansas, "the wheat state" and my father was a wheat farmer and raised cattle) but why are we subsidizing tobacco growers Also, corn is heavily subsidized when much of it is used to make corn syrup or to feed cattle. Please consider reprioritizing which growers are subsidized to provide more help to those who provide fresh fruits and veggies to consumers so that these foods become more affordable.
