In response to the Fur Products Labeling Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, the Commission received 11 identical comments, and a representative copy of those comments is found below.RE: Project No. P074201 Please adopt the proposed Fur Rules to require all fur products to contain a fully-descriptive label regarding the animal used, manufacturer or marketer, and country of origin to help eliminate fraud in the marketing of fur products as faux fur. Investigations by the Humane Society of the U.S. have revealed that this type of fraud continues to occur but in advertising and selling real fur to an unsuspecting public that believes it is purchasing a non-animal product. I appreciate the FTC’s proposal to deal with the issue and urge the agency to enforce its rules once adopted. Thank you.
