Renown gambled on monopolizing cardiology services to pay for their expensive not-for-profit (potentially very profitable) Institute for Heart-whatever. Renown lost, sort of. It is a decent precedent, however. Otherwise, it would only have been a matter of time before Renown had all the orthos, all the nephrologists, all the pulmonologists, all the pediatricians, etc.,etc. Releasing ten cardiologists isn't nearly enough! It should be no less than 60% of their two groups. There are three civilian hospitals in the Truckee Meadows area. Why should Renown be given the advantage of the most cardiologists, and a timid slap on the wrist? This does not benefit the public. You are right, Renown's action is restraint of trade, and you didn't do nearly enough!.
