I think it is ridiculous that the Snapchat company is not being punished to the same degree of the law that any person charged with and found guilty of identity theft or wiretapping would be. It is my God-given right to have privacy in this country, and I should be able to assume any company will not violate that privacy unless permitted otherwise. Snapchat was not permitted to keep the private information of millions of people. I have never allowed Snapchat to access my private contacts or any information on any of my devices, but I could not prevent other individuals that have my information from allowing Snapchat to access their private contents. As a result, my name, date of birth, home address, phone number, email address, and social media profiles have been taken, saved, and stored in Snapchat's databases without my ever consenting or even knowing. This company and the individuals operating it should be given more than a slap on the wrist, or else other companies and corporations will continue to violate the Constitutional Rights of American Citizens with little to no repercussions. I will not forfeit my freedom, nor will I stand idly while it is taken from me. Thank you.
