Announcement of Public Workshop, "Examining Health Care Competition" ("Health Care Workshop") Project No. P13-1207
To Whom it may concern: I am a PA with a Masters Degree in Occupational Medicine and 34 years of clinical experience. I am imploring the FTC to truthfully and fully examen the rigorous training and education required to function as a PA in today's world of healthcare. We are shackled by out-dated and physician self serving ideologies that are not needed and needlessly imposed on us for physician financial gain. We need to derive parity with Physicians and NPs. Anything less than parity is discriminatory and in my opinion mount to a "restriction of trade" issue. Please let the barriers that hold us back be stripped and replaced with parity in practice so we may serve the public as patient numbers continue to escalate! One current and recent attempt to give parity among all providers is occurring in the world of DOT. In order to perform certification physicals on Commercial Motor Vehicle drivers PAs,NP's, and Physicians ALL have to pass a certifying exam (the same exam) given to all providers. In order to accommodate the millions of patients that will enter and need healthcare do to Physician shortages, Baby boomers needing care, and the Affordable Health Care act will require ALL PROVIDERS to perform at the top of their license and ensuring equal opportunity and no restraint of trade as currently exists. Please do the right thing for the American people and increase accessibility to health care by permitting Physicians,NP's and PAs to serve the public with EQUAL responsibility and opportunity!
