Comments:To whom it may concern: The re-introduction of Alfalfa's Market, under that name, is important to the greater community of Boulder, Colorado in that it brings back the entrepreneurial character that is so prevelant here. Boulder has made a significant name for itself with the genius of its residents that have spearheaded many fine companies, such as Celestial Seasonings, Crocs, Horizon Milk, Izze, Noodles, Chipotle, just to name a few. With the loss of our individual food markets here to the Whole Foods giant, our community has been missing something that is important to our heritage. Alfala's Market was the first of its kind in this area and a landmark to Boulder being a full service natural foods grocer. Its return to the original location will inspire and support many of our local smaller food and health related companies as well as the local economy. The fact that it will operate under the original name and location will communicate to the public that this is indeed a local business guided by the incredible expertise of Mark Retzloff, its co-founder. It would not have the same presence, strength or effect under a pseudonym. Alfalfa's is a legend in its own right with the potential of revitalizing our local economy.
