Since Whole Foods Market opened, local natural grocery store competition was taken over by Whole Foods. Price of essential foods increased faster than the time before Whole Foods took over Wild Oats. For fair and healthy market in greater Portland area, there is strong need of competition against Whole Foods Market. Local small natural foods market could not match to it, however, Trader Joe's can be a good competition.
