I live almost two hours from Portland & 3.5 from Boston (where I currently have to make Trader Joe's runs 3-4 times a year). I think it would be GREAT to have a Trader Joe's in Maine!! It is unfortunate that the large chains have had a negative impact on the Green Grocer local market - but overall I think the larger, more affordable chains like Trader Joe's could have a positive effect on the local big grocery chains - that have a monopoly right now (Hannaford's & Shaws). Food is generally very expensive in Maine.
