Please approve the sale of the former Wild Oats Market, Inc., Portland, Maine, store to Trader Joe's East, Inc. Greater Portland serves a consumer market of close to 250,000. There is certainly no reason to allow the de facto monopoly enjoyed by Whole Foods to continue, at the expense of consumers. Competition and balance will be a good thing not only for Portland but also, in the long run, for the business entities themselves.
