Comments:The FTC should absolutely approve a Trader Joe's in the Portland area. As someone who seeks to eat healthy, organic foods, but can't always afford to shop and Whole Foods, I know personally I would greatly benefit from a Trader Joe's in the area. I believe Portland is exactly the kind of city that a Trader Joe's would thrive in. It is full of young, socially conscious people looking for an affordable way to eat better. Furthermore, as Trader Joe's often has it's own, limited inventory, I don't feel that I would really affect the business at the local Hannafords, which carries more name-brand items. Ever since Wild Oats went out of business I have been saying that a Trader Joe's should replace it, and I'm happy to see that this idea may be coming to fruition.
