Please do NOT change the current Used Car Rule. As a crime victim advocate, I fear that changing the rules will make it easier to swindle unsuspecting car buyers. I've had to help crime victims who were defrauded by used car lot salesmen, and if the rules are changed, I foresee a lot more fraud. Many times the police look upon this matter as a civil matter and not a criminal one (when legally it could be pursued in both civil and criminal courts, but the police often choose to not help the victim, who can not afford to hire attorneys for the civil case. When that happens, there is no justice for victims). Please continue to protect the buyers by not altering the current laws, unless it benefits buyers.
