I believe drugstores should be included in your Unavailability Rule. Our Walgreen's are notorious for not having a reasonable stock for something they have on sale (Just like K-Mart. Remember them ?). I believe they just "fill the shelf". When I get there (even early the same day the ad came out), the shelf is empty. Of course, I always get the, "We get a truck on Wednesday" excuse. I tell them (rather loudly so everyone within earshot hears me) that they're getting as bad as K-Mart and my car doesn't run on air.
I also believe, since I don't trust corporations, that department stores, electronic retailers (especially Best Buy) and other types of retail outlets should be included in your Unavailability Rule.
I also strongly feel that alternatives to not having it "in stock" should be the choice of the consumer, NOT the retailer. I should be able to choose between a "Raincheck" or a "Replacement item" of the same type. Maybe if it started getting into their deep pockets instead of mine, these practices would stop. I DO NOT want to go back a second, third and fourth time to pick up what they SHOULD HAVE on the shelves...as advertised. It is a waste of my time, my gas, my nerves, not to mention the environmental pollution.
I go to the local Wendy's (which ALWAYS get the order wrong), go to the drive-thru and when I get home, the order is wrong. I call them up and tell them I want the ENTIRE order replaced that, "My car doesn't run on air." I have become a "hard-ass" about it.
The consumer needs to be protected from the shady corporations. Personally, just like in politics, I vote. Never for an incumbent (my personal way of setting "Term Limits"). In the case of Walgreen's I vote "with my wallet". When I tired of K-Mart's "Raincheck Policy", I did not spend a NICKLE in their stores for TEN years. Same for Walgreen's now.
Please remember all those out there (especially now) with less "resources" and make anything you do concerning your Unavailability Rule benefit them. Do the right thing. Thank you.
