Our newspaper is limited in its financial as well as its human resources. Therefore, amending the TSR to "explicitly prohibit all prerecorded sales and telemarketing calls to consumers" will, we feel, put a prohibitive burden on our already limited resources to accomplish the important task of communicating directly with our base subscribers. In the event this rule changed is made, it will severely limit our customer service efforts. Our newspaper has a 100 year history of serving its host community. We feel this longevity has created a uniquely intimate relationship in which telephone calls we make to its members do not, in their minds, constitute an invasion of privacy. We urge you to not make this rule change.
