I wanted to share some input in regard to the positive impact that automated messages have had for me personally as a consumer and request that legislation not be put in place that would just make it harder for companies I do business with to serve me and be a duplication to other actions already in place to protect consumers. I currently appricate the efforts companies like Walgreen's and Verizon make to reach out to customers in regards to things like picking up meds that I take on a monthly basis when they are ready incase I have fogotten or letting me know when their is a better rate plan avalible based on usage. These are companies that I have established relationships with and I don't think they should have to ask permission nor should I have to give permission to them again when I have already demonstrated that I want to do business with them by they fact that I buy things from them and/or have a service contract with the company. I expect for companies I do business with to come up with inovative ways to provide value and heightend levels of customer service. The fact that my government wants to tie their hands when they are working to make those efforts is frustrating to me. Being forced to jump through this addional hoop of my giving and them getting addition written consent seems like a waste of time and money that could go to passing on additional savings to me or developing new products that I may need. Please allow the companies we choose to do business with to continue to use these smart business pratices to reach out to us in regard to new offerings or services.
