While I understand the reasons behind it, I believe the Commission should not amend the TSR to prohibit prerecorded telemarketing calls without the consumer’s prior written consent. I currently have existing business relationships with several companies, and I rely on these calls not only to save me money but to keep me abreast of issues beneficial to my relationship with said companies. I don't particularly need to speak to a human being in order to benefit from the message being delivered--in fact, if the message being delivered is clear and concise, I prefer an automated message over having a conversation with someone about the same information. In my case, when I prefer not to receive a message, I simply opt-out.
