I appreciate the intent of this rule change but I am concerned that it will prohibit services that I find helpful. An example is my termite prevention service. My service provider leaves me a voice message every year to remind me that it is time for my annual contract renewal and inspection. I find this extremely convenient. I do not want to be hassled with a mailing that I have to sign and mail back for every such service. The telephone is a superior communication medium for this purpose. What I would like to see done, however, is to require such callers to provide their Caller ID. As it is now, most of these callers show up as "Out of Area" in Caller ID and that is what I find annoying. Make them reveal themselves through Caller ID when they call. Please modify the proposed rule to allow a company to call me if I have a current business relationship with them, but require them to reveal their identify through Caller ID.
