I would have to say the wording of the proposed legislation is too vague and broad. Under the current wording it would seem this legislation would block many more public service businesses than public annoyance businesses. Anything automated these days contains a recording and as such many businesses and people's jobs depend on this automation. For instance, "Thank you, your order has been received, would you like to purchase a rush order service? Press 1 for yes or simply hangup" Granted this is just a simple example but the concept is of importance. There is nothing malicious or annoying about a call of this sort, however it would be blocked by this legislation and is simply an avenue for potential revenue without attacking the consumer by mass call blasts. I think the FTC needs to be more specific and only pass legislation against marketing call blasts.
