I am opposed to any form of revision, modification or relaxing to the current laws that would enable telemarketers to telephone consumers either via pre-recodred messages or live messages made by individuals to any greater extent than the present laws provide. "Prerecorded Message EBR, Telemarketing Project No. R411001" must protect consumers from unwanted telemarketing intrusions without placing the burden on the consumer to directly contact each and every company and organization on whose list the consumers' contact information may appear. A centralized do-not-call registry is the only means to achieve this without placing an undue and unreasonable burden upon the consumers who wish to not be contacted by telemarketers. The more-restrictive guidelines of the FTC should be adopted unilaterally by the FCC, thus bringing cohesion, continuity and clarity to the law and its enforceability within these government agencies.
