The telephone is for my convenience. I pay a fairly stiff monthly fee in order to have it available for my own use and for family and friends to get in touch with me. There are times when I use the telephone to get in touch with businesses in the pursuit of my lifestyle and perhaps with Law Enforcement in protection of my person and my property. As long as I am the one paying for this service, I should be the one who makes the decisions on acceptable use. Therefore, I very much resent the free-loading telemarketers. In addition, their inconsiderate methods of intruding on my privacy are irritating, to say the least.. If most people feel as I do, why is our Government even thinking about making it easier for these Telephone Terrorists to invade our homes by the phone lines we pay for? Is an intruder who invades our homes by a window excused on the basis of doing business that way? Please support law-abiding citizens who want their privacy protected.
