Please do not allow companies to use automated calls. I've found that in my area, if a machine calls you, often, it will not hang up when you do, and will continue to tie up the phone line until its done giving its little message. This is an inconvenience and an abuse of the phone system. My home is my private place, a place where I can seek peace and solitude. This should be respected. I would hate to have to turn off all the phones in my home just so I can get a little peace and quiet. I do not like to be called at all, but if I had to choose between a real person and a machine-- I choose the real person. I'd rather the money be going to the many as opposed to the few. You should not allow telemarking companies to downsize and cut jobs just so that they can use a machine and make themselves more money. Please consider my peace and the livelyhood of those who make the calls.
