Please do not allow marketers to use pre-recorded messages. These messages tie up my phone line when I am trying to make outgoing calls (what if I must make an emergency call?) The messages also tend to be overly long and repetitive, taking up space on my answering machine and possibly leaving no room for important messages. I favor a complete ban on telemarketing. Let these people email me or send a letter - those methods are not as intrusive. If these people must be allowed to disturb me, the least they can do is employ someone and put a real person on the line.
