Pre-recorded messages are just as harassing as live telemarketers leaving a message. Both types of calls are unsolicited and aggravating. If I want to purchase from a company, I will surely contact that company. Don't call me, I will call you. However, pre-recorded messages make it easier to disengage the call. Also, I have had telemarketers leave incoherent sounds on the answering machine because they are annoyed that nobody answered. These people should not have a job. Subsequently, I think it is better to replace them with pre-recorded messages, if that is the only alternative placed before me.
