Comments on Prerecorded Message EBIC, Telemarketing Project No. R411001: I have registered my phone numbers and do not want to receive ANY calls from telemarketers--it doesn't matter if they use a person or a recording to contact me. Several months ago, I made the mistake of speaking with a Direct TV company representative. I started getting recorded calls from this business EVERYDAY. When I followed the instructions to get them stopped, I was disconnected or told by a recording that the business was closed. It took several weeks for the recorded calls to stop. In two other cases of unwanted telemarketing calls where I was able to speak to someone and asked them to stop calling, the call immediately stopped. Please do not do ANYTHING to weaken the Do Not Call List legislation. I am sure you can align the two rules in favor of the consumer and not give these telemarketers another opportunity to invade my privacy!
