I am extremely opposed to any change in the regulations that would allow more telemarketing calls. Telemarketing calls are absolutely unwanted in my household. They serve no purpose. I have never purchased anything from a telemarketer. I know of noone who has ever purchased from a telemarketer. Their calls are an interruption. I often find telemarketers to be rude and ignorant. Allowing pre-recoreded calls only amplifies the problem because it then requires me to do something to stop them, individually, rather than in mass as with the do not call list. If anything, telelmarketing should be prohibited unless people sign up for a do call list indicating they want telemarketers to contact them. The do not call list was one of the greatest ideas since the invention of the telephone. It should be strengthened, not weakened.
